Blogging Experience

When we started this blogging assignment I was not sure how my blog would turn out. For most of the semester I had been thinking that the blog entries we posted for the final blogging grade had to have some sort of theme, or revolve around a common topic. Every time I found something that interested me online, I would keep it in mind but never post it as I was trying to determine a topic to blog about. As it got closer to the deadline and as I visited some other blogs on the web I realized that blogs do not have to be coherent in any way. Blogs can consist of whatever the blogger chooses to show to their audience. So for this blog I finally decided that I would blog about things I look for when I go online. I love viewing comedy pages and reading or watching videos that make me laugh. I also like to find things that are out of the ordinary. Whether it be some cool pictures from nature or street art, or people stepping up to help for a larger cause. I look for people who overcome hardships that would easily bring others down a defeat them. These types of stories give me a positive outlook on life, allowing me to enjoy so much more. I look for stories or videos that inspire me. In this blog I have shared with you some of the things that interest me. It took a long time for me to throw consistency out the window and blog at random, but that is what blogging truly is. So now I leave you with on more video, which helped to lead me in the direction I took for this blog. Nike paid a young man to create a viral video for their new product the Nike Fuel Band. They asked him to make a video about what it means to “Make It Count”. Instead of making a commercial, he took all their money and traveled around the world with his friend until the money ran out. They caught the trip on film and made it their video. By throwing the general rules out the window, they truly were able to “Make It Count” in the best way possible. So I followed suit and decided to blog at random as opposed to topically because in my eyes that is what it means to “Blog”

The Editing Room

So I recently read an article on a comedy website (cracked.com) and the article was entitled ” If Hunger Games was 10 Times shorter and 100 Percent Honest” you can check out the article by clicking on the title.

The great thing about this article is it is written in the form of a movie script, except it is satirically abridged and takes the fantastical moments of the movie and puts them in literal context.  I started laughing because it pokes fun at the movie as well as the actors in the movie, through changing their dialogue in the script.  I would have shared the article itself directly to this page but it was impossible so the link above will have to suffice.  At the beginning of the article, it listed the origin of the this hilariously abridged script, and it came form a site called the-editing-room.com.  This is a website that has taken all the popular movies from the past several year, as well as some classics, and re-written their scripts to be much shorter and extremely amusing, as scenes you recall are made fun of throughout the script.  To see the entire archive you can click here.  I highly suggest you check this site out, as you can read a script in just a few minutes, but it will be sure to make you laugh!

Dylans Cystic Fibrosis Dance

I found this video of a young boy named Dylan who suffers Cystic Fibrosis and even though he has to do long boring breathing exercises everyday, he is still able to find a reason to dance and smile. Stories like Dylan’s always put things back into perspective for me. It makes it easier to find the joy in life. Hope it does the same for you!

Amazing Street Art

So I regularly go to this website called Thechive.com, and from time to time they do some posts of different art work randomly found on the streets.  Now normally one would think its graffiti or something, but this stuff really catches your eye and every time I look at some of these images i still second guess what is real and what isn’t.  Its pretty cool; here check it out for yourself.

15 Year Old Piano Prodigy

Found this video to be pretty amazing.  This blind piano player only needs to hear a song once or twice and can play it perfectly by ear.

First Blog

This being the first blog I have ever set up, I have to say it was relatively easy.  Once signing up with WordPress I was easily able to choose my theme and start blogging.  I also found it pretty easy to upload a photo.  Heres a picture of me on top of a mountain in Panama:

The main premise of this blog is to just show you some things that I find cool on the net and that interest me.
